The S5 boasts substantial aerodynamic improvements over its predecessor. Full internal cable routing, a custom bar and stem, and special frame shapes work together to minimize drag. The extended seat tube cutout is a close-fitting curve which shields the leading edge of the rear wheel to significantly improve aerodynamic performance. Additionally, the S5 Disc is significantly stiffer at the bottom bracket and head tube, without increasing frame weight. The frame's stiffness and its geometry work together for precise handling and pedaling efficiency—you'll feel the difference immediately. However, recognizing that efficiency is also affected by compliance, Cervelo designed the S5 to avoid being overly rigid.
